Biography AVENARIUS Vasily Petrovich
Born in 1839. He graduated from the course at St. Petersburg University. A senior official of institutions of Empress Maria. In 1859 - 60 years published a collection of cheerful student poems. In 1865, placed in the "Notes of the Fatherland" story "Modern idyll", ridiculing materialistic youth. Much Ado caused a novel A. "Epidemic" (in the World Trude, 1867), in which the author of a good-natured satire came to an extremely sharp reproof "nihilists" and "pseudo-realists, especially Chernyshevskogo and his followers. Some scenes stories, illustrating the promiscuity of the nihilists, are of a pornographic nature. The reactionary tendency of "hysteria" provoked such a vigorous attack throughout the press that A. refused stories on current issues, and devoted himself to teaching literature. In this field a. become very popular. From children's tales of his best known "Tale of the Honey-mohnatke" and "What room govoritN" prized Petersburg Frebelevskim society. Enjoyed great success he had written biographical novel: "Youthful years of Pushkin" (1887), "adolescent years of Pushkin" (1885), "Egg-boy" (1896), as well as its "Book of epics.
