Biography Gunk Joseph Karlovich
(1801 - 1883), a native of Bohemia. Was organist and violinist in the orchestra of St. Petersburg Imperial Theaters. His advice as a music teacher, theorist, enjoy the many musicians, including AN. Serov. Musical compositions: "Te Deum"; Requiem; oratorio "The Flood"; orchestral overtures, sonatas, three quintets, piano pieces and songs. Theoretical writings: "The doctrine of melody" (St. Petersburg, 1859), "Guide to the study of harmony" (Moscow, 1887), "Guide to compose music" (Moscow, 1887), "Letters on Music" (St. Petersburg, 1863).
