Dashkov Vasily Andreyevich

(1819 - 1896). In 1842, Mr.. amounted to "Description Olonetsk province". Consisting assistant curator of the Moscow school district, concerned about the completion of the ethnographic collection of the Moscow Public and Rumyantsev Museum. On his initiative, based in Moscow, a special Russian Museum of Ethnography, which helped a lot arranged by the Moscow Society of Naturalists Russian ethnographic exhibition (1867). At the end of ethnographic objects exhibition came to the ownership of the Moscow Public Museum and became part of Dashkovskaya Ethnographic Museum. The museum collection consisted of 288 artistic performance dummies tribes in Russia and the Slavic lands, to 450 N costumes, up to 1200 N of home wares and up to 2000 N drawings and photographs. Due diligence Dashkova, Ethnographic Museum of Moscow considerably enlarged. In order Dashkova filled and painted photographic, large size images with all the dummies that are members of the museum, and thus made up a unique album of the peoples of Russia and the Slavic lands. On behalf Dashkova been made curator of the museum, Professor Sun. Miller, "A systematic description of the collections of the museum". On the personal funds Dashkova produced and repair collections, . and the purchase of many everyday items, . and the publication of several scientific papers, . of which the principal: "Collection of Anthropological and Ethnological articles on Russia and the countries surrounding it" (Book I - II, . To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Rumyantsev Museum (May 28, 1882) Dashkov donated to the museum collection of images Russian officials, the 243-s portrait, copied from originals Kramskoy, Repin, Vasnetsov, Zagorskogo and others.
