Biography Dubrovsky Petr P.
(1812 - 1882). Educated in Nezhin Lyceum and the University of Moscow. He was a professor of Polish language in the Main Pedagogical Institute and a member of the 2 branches of the Academy of Sciences. In 1841, Mr.. released in Warsaw his "Przeglad literatury rossyjskiej z roku 1838, 1839, 1840". Returning from a trip to West Slavic lands, Dubrovsky planned to publish a journal in Russian and Polish languages, "Lucifer" or "Zutrzenka" for the purpose of mutual study of Slavic peoples. Dubrovsky widely watched in the Slavic idea, not carried away, however, the "one-sided view of so-called Slavophiles". "Lucifer" was an echo of the public almost all Slavic peoples. Some disagreement in the views between Dubrovsky and Polish patriots, the small success of "Lucifer" in Russia, ban it in Galicia and the gradual depletion of resources Dubrovsky soon put an end to the magazine (1842 and 1843). Dubrovsky continued to work in the same direction, taking part in Russian ( "Notes of the Fatherland", "Moskvityanin" etc.) and many Slavic journals. Later works Dubrovsky: "Dictionary of Polish-Russian administrative and judicial" (Warsaw, . 1847); "Kurs praktyczny jezyka rossyjskiego" (Warsaw, . 1850), "Comparison of the regional Great-words with words of Polish" ( "Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences", . 1852); "remarkable words from the ancient monuments of Polish literature, . Psalter of Queen Margarita "(ibid.);" Adam Mickiewicz "(St. Petersburg, . 1858), "New materials for biographies of Mickiewicz" (ib., . 1859); "Joachim Lelewel and his academic activities" (ib., . 1859), "Remembering the Hanke" (ib., . 1861), "The Polish reader" (Warsaw, . 1872 - 1873), . with the Polish-Russian dictionary, . endured a number of publications, "Complete Dictionary of Polish and Russian language" (Warsaw, . 1876 - 1878),
. The latter work suffers from several shortcomings, but it is the best so far, the richness of the material, the successful transfer of the meaning of words and phrases and examples. See. S. P (tashitsky) PP. Dubrovsky "(" Journal of the Ministry of National Education ", 1882, XII).
