Biography Zograf Nikolay Yu
Born in 1851, studied at the 4-th Moscow gymnasium, in 1868, Mr.. entered Moscow University in the Department of Natural Sciences, where he graduated from the course in 1872. and entered taxidermist at the Zoological Museum of the University. In 1873 - 1874 he. was abroad on a business trip from the Society of Naturalists. From 1874 to 1890. taught geography and natural history in various educational institutions in 1883. defended his master's thesis ( "Data on the study of embryonic development Geophilus forrugineus and G. proximus ", in" Proceedings of the Society of Naturalists, t. XLIII, in. 1) and in 1884. became privat-docent, in 1887, Mr.. defended his thesis for a doctorate in zoology ( "Materials for the study of the structure Sturgeon" in "Proceedings of the Society of Naturalists, t. LIII, Issue 3), in 1888. supernumerary appointed extraordinary professor of zoology at the University of Moscow. In 1877, Mr.. Zograf traveled in the Kanin tundra and on the Kanin Peninsula to study the Samoyed, and then a series of visits to the excavations of burial mounds and anthropometric observations. Until 1890. was chairman of the department of ichthyology society acclimatization, . and now Zograf is chairman of the department of invertebrates of the same society, . chairman of the commission to investigate the central Russian waters in respect of Ichthyology and vice-chairman of the Department of Anthropology Society of Naturalists, .
