Roman astrologer in the second half of I. BC, famous for the accuracy of their predictions. His name is of Egyptian origin, and himself a. could belong to a group of Egyptian astrologers, famous throughout the empire (such as Balbill, Heremon, Seleucus, Ptolemy, and others). Works A. received great popularity among subsequent generations of astrologers. Portfolio A. were among the astrological sources Vettius Valenta, the anonymous author of 379 g. and Palhusa. However, our time pieces A. not reached.

In late August - early September, 96 g. A. was arrested and later executed by the Emperor Domitian (81 - 96 years.), who feared predictions about his fate. Suetonius in the Life of Twelve Caesars "describes the death of Alexander:

"In him was told that he anticipates his art and discloses the future, and he did not deny, but on the question, how did he die, he replied that it will soon tear the dog. Domitian ordered him at once to kill, but to expose the falsity of his art buried with the greatest solicitude. This was done, but a sudden storm blew up, scattered the fire, and burned corpse severed dog.
This event, according to the historian, very shocked the Emperor, who did not live after him and a month, dying, as predicted by A.
