Petrov, Alexander A.

Born in PA, probably in early 1760-ies, the first literary efforts were placed in Novikovskiy magazine "Morning Light" (1777 - 1780). During the period from 1785. to 1792, Mr.. preserved his letter to NM. Karamzin (cm. "Russian Archive", 1863). According to M. Dmitrieva ( "Trifles from a stock of my memory", Moscow, 1869), P. Karamzin, and lived together in the home of Friendly Learned Society. Manual II. and its intelligibility taste Karamzin was required to develop a sense of elegant. Karamzin himself, portraying his friend in the elegy "The flower on the coffin of my Agathon" and partly in the novel "A sensitive and cold-blooded" (1803), looked at him as their leader and elder of knowledge and wisdom. In 1791, P. moved to the service in St. Petersburg and here in 1793, died.
