At the end of the course at Moscow University in 1786, went abroad, where he studied the art of obstetrics in GцІttingen and Berlin. In 1790 R. returned to Russia and was approved in the degree of Doctor of Medicine Medical College in St. Petersburg, in the same year he was appointed professor of obstetrics art at Moscow University. Under the direction of P. was opened in 1806 a new Institute of obstetrics and maternity hospital at the University of Moscow, in addition, P. founded the Institute of obstetrics at the Imperial house educational and here he taught the theory and practice of obstetrics art.
