BABUR

(1483-1530)
A descendant of the great Mongol military leader Genghis Khan through his second son Jagatai and no less famous Turkic warlord Timur, or Tamerlane. His real name Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur - the second name, meaning 'tiger' - was taken from the Mongols. In 1495 he succeeded his father, Sheikh Omar Mirma, ruler of Fergana, but intrigue and rebellion on the outskirts of powers greatly reduced the size of the territory was subject to his.
