Biography GREEN, John Richard (Green John Richard)
(1837-1883) Born in Oxford on Dec. 12, 1837. He was educated at Modlin-college-cheekbones and Jesus College, Oxford University, in 1863 became parish priest at Holy Trinity Church in Hokstone, and in 1866 - in the church Sv.Filippa in Stepney. For reasons of health was forced to change their way of life and became a librarian at Lambeth Palace, Lambeth. Green was interested in medieval English history and in 1874 published a brief history of the English People (Short History of the English People). Unfortunately, in the first sections of his labor Greene enjoyed unreliable sources, and today his book is more literary than scientific interest. Green expanded it to four volumes, . firing history of the English People (A History of the English People, . 1877-1880), the result of more rigorous studies are books Formation of Britain (The Making of England, . 1882) and the Conquest of England (The Conquest of England, . 1883), . Greene died in Menton (France) 7 March 1883.
