Kero Anthony (Caro Anthony)

Kero was born in London on March 8, 1924, he studied at Christ's College, Cambridge and received an engineering degree. After the war, engaged in sculpture, first at the Ecole Polytechnique in Regent Street (1946), then in the school at the Royal Academy of Arts (1947-1952). In 1951-1953 was an assistant to Henry Moore, the most famous of British sculptors of 20 centuries. In the first figurative sculptures Kero 1950 dominates the influence of massive forms, characteristic of the works of Moore

Using the aluminum tubes, steel bars, covers boilers, snow plows, handles, boxes, etc.. terms and imagery of modern industrial technology, Kero brought to the extreme possibilities of abstract thinking in sculpture. Kero created the sculpture as a very simple configuration (aiming to land zigzag Shaftesbury, 1965), and very complex (lush, full of curvilinear forms Greenhouse, 1969). Some sculptures Kero close to organic or landscaped grounds, reminiscent of works by Henry Moore.
