Biography Malinovsky, Rodion Yakovlevich
(1898-1967)
Born on 11 (22) November 1898 in Odessa. Illegitimate son of a cook. Educated in the school junior officers' quarters (1920) and the Frunze Military Academy (1930). In 1911-1914 worked as a laborer, then a student clerk haberdashery shop in Odessa. In 1914 he joined the army as a volunteer. Member of the First World War, Corporal, for the differences in the battles was awarded the George Cross 4-th degree. In 1916 in the Russian expeditionary corps was sent to France.
