She was a courtesan), . flame of love Propertius was not able to repay even the death of beloved (though their connection was interrupted, . Judging by the poems, . even before),
. Propertius admits that he wants to have Kinfe, talks about the sensual pleasure that it gives him, of his grief at the sight of a locked door Kinfe and pains, which gives him the idea of successful rival, to enjoy its charms. Propertius tells about the beauty Kinfe and its perfection: it is - it docta puella ( 'academic girl'). Often love motivates Propertius gazing into their feelings, . and here his training at times prevails over passion, . manifests itself in inappropriate mythological allusions, . tasking in the eyes of the modern reader to question the sincerity of the author,
. However, this excessive panache learning got Propertius inherited from the Alexandrian school of poetry, primarily from Kallimaha and Fileta, and does not prove a lack of passion. Instead, Propertius had a remarkably powerful imagination, and his tongue is bold and expressive. Elegy relating to the later period of creativity, show increasing range of interests of the poet.
