Biography Saint-Exupery, Antoine de
He was one of the first airmail pilots, worked in France, Africa, South America. As a military pilot took part in the Second World War, July 31, 1944 not returned to base with the job. General Ledger SAINT grew from his experience of pilot. In the novels of Southern Mail (Courrier-Sud, 1929) and Night Flight (Vol de nuit, 1931) the story less important than the vision of the world through the eyes of pilot and a keen sense of human solidarity, which divide the risk. Terre des Hommes (Terre des hommes, 1939) consists of the dramatic scenes, portraits of pilots and philosophical reflections. Deeply personal opinion brings this book with others, written during the war - Military Pilot (Pilote de guerre, 1942). Saint-Exupery's story also owns The Little Prince (Le Petit prince, 1943), which he illustrated himself.
