Biography HILL Einar (Hille Einar)
(1894-1980) Born June 28, 1894 in New York. Youth Hilla took place in Sweden. In 1918, Hill defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Stockholm. He continued his education at Harvard University and the Universities of Copenhagen and GцІttingen. He taught mathematics at Stockholm and Harvard. Since 1922 he worked at Princeton University and in 1933 became professor of mathematics at Yale University. In 1953 he was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA. His main works are devoted to functional analysis Hille. Special interest he showed for linear second order differential equations, integral equations, Dirichlet series and Fourier series, Fourier and Laplace transforms and analytic semigroups. Hill died in La Jolla (pc. California) February 12, 1980.
