Born in Modena in a noble but impoverished family. He studied medicine at Ferrara, receiving a diploma, studied and worked in various medical schools in Europe. In 1548 he became a professor of anatomy at Ferrara, and a year later - a professor of surgery and anatomy at Pisa. In 1551 Cosimo I, Grand Duke of Tuscany, invited him to the same position in the University of Padua (previously it took a famous Italian anatomist Andreas Vesalius). Here he received the chair of botany and pharmacology, and was director of the Botanic Gardens. Major work Fallopian associated with the study of anatomy of the head. Among the many works of Fallopian - two of the treatise on tumors and ulcers, one in surgery, comments on the book about the wounds of the head, written by Hippocrates, treatises on the preparation of medicines, on laxatives, the warm waters and baths. His work is dedicated to the study of syphilis, the French disease (De morbo qallico, 1564), the views expressed in it seem quite modern.
