Biography Girolamo Frescobaldi (Frescobaldi Girolamo)

By instrumental and vocal tracks, along with Dzh.Gabrieli and C. Monteverdi is one of the greatest musicians of the early baroque. Frescobaldi was born in 1583 in Ferrara. His teacher was the organist of the Cathedral L. Luzzachchi, known by madrigals. Still very young Frescobaldi has become a great singer and organist. In 1604 he went to Rome, probably in the retinue of the Cardinal of Ferrara. In 1608 he entered the service of Cardinal Aldobrandini (for musical gatherings at his home Frescobaldi composed songs, madrigals and motets). In the same year he was appointed organist at the Cathedral of St.. Peter. In 1614 he spent several months in Mantua, about 1628 he moved to Florence at the invitation of the Grand Duke of the Medici. In 1634, Frescobaldi returned to Rome, to its former place in the Cathedral of St.. Peter, where he remained until his death. Died Frescobaldi in Rome on March 1, 1643.
When life Frescobaldi was widely known as a composer, performer and teacher. Many of his works were republished. Century after Bach's own hand made a copy of Musical flowers (Fiori musicali) Frescobaldi.
