Vasiliy Egorov

In the Red Army from 1941. Graduated from Borisoglebsk military flying school (1942), then an officer's Graduate School of pilots. On the Great Patriotic War from April 1943. Commander of the 21 Fighter Regiment, 256 th Fighter Aviation Division, the 3rd Belorussian Front Lieutenant E. made 315 sorties (157 of them - to explore), in 16 air battles shot down 11 enemy planes, destroyed 2 balloon. After the war he continued service in the Air Force. Colonel. Killed on duty. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, 5 orders of the Red Banner, Order of the Patriotic War, 1-st degree, medals.
