Apollinaris, Apolinarios, from Laodicea, c.. 310-OK. 391 years., Egzeget, Greek Christian poet. From 360 g. bishop of Laodicea in Syria. A Literary creativity. associated with theological disputes in the IV. n. e. (Arianism, cm. Arius) and the Order of Julian the Apostate to train Christians in the pagan schools. A. would like to invite Christians to the Holy Scriptures "translated" in the form of classical literature, along with his father Apollinaria-grammar composed epics and tragedies in the stories of historical books of the Old Testament, a dialogue based on the Gospels, etc.. From these writings survived only a paraphrase of the Psalms (Metaphrasis eis ton psaltera), written in dactylic hexameters, vocabulary and phraseology is reminiscent of works of Homer and Kallimaha. A rich literary creativity. remained fragmented, and these fragments we know by their inclusion in the writings of Gregory the Miracle Worker, Athanasius of Alexandria and Gregory of Nyssa. A. was the creator of heresy, called apollinarizmom against which the many ecclesiastical writers, IV and V. n. e.
