Mr. Romani Mikhail Mikhailovich. Born February 24, 1899 in the city of Tver. Russian. Childhood and adolescence spent in Kaluga, Rzhev, village Losinoostrovsky (Б?  now within the city). In 1916-1917 he studied at the Moscow Higher Technical School, in 1917 he graduated from the aviation theory courses at the Moscow Higher Technical School.

In the Army from 1917. In 1918 he graduated from the Moscow flight school, left in her flight instructor. In 1924-1930 Б?  in flight test work in the Institute of Air Force in 1930-1941 Б?  in TsAGI. Has tested many famous aircraft. Implemented a number of long-haul flights to Europe, China and Japan.

. 10/12 September 1934 at the ANT-25 (second pilot Б?  AI Filin, navigator Б?  I. T. Spirin) made a record for distance and duration flight on the closed route Б?  12411 miles in 75 hours.

. W tion of the Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Mikhailovich Gromov was awarded on Sept. 28, 1934 for the implementation of the flight and for displaying courage and heroism.

. In 1937 at the ANT-25 made a nonstop flight from Moscow to the North Pole Б?  Б?  San Jacinto (USA), setting 2 world aircraft distance record.

. From March to August 1941 Б?  Chief Flight Research Institute.

. In Private World War II: December 1941-February 1942 Б?  commanding 31-second mixed air divisions (Kalinin Front), Air Force commander of the Kalinin Front (February-May 1942), commander of the 3rd (May 1942-May 1943) and 1-st air armies (May 1943-June 1944),
. In 1944-1946 Б?  Head Office training Frontal Aviation Air Force.

After the war in 1946-1949 Б?  deputy commander of long-range aviation. In 1949-1955 Б?  Head of the Flight Department MAP. Since 1955, Colonel General Aviation Gromov Б?  in stock.

In 1959-1961 Б?  chairman Weightlifting Federation of the USSR.

F ill in Moscow. Died Jan. 22, 1985. He was buried in Moscow, the Novodevichy cemetery.

Distinguished Pilot USSR (1925), Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1969), Professor (1937). Awarded 4 orders of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, 4 orders of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov, 2-nd degree, Order of the Patriotic War of degree 1, 3 orders of Red Star and medals, and foreign awards. Awarded medals de Lavaux (FAI) (1937).

Its named after a street in Moscow, the area in Zhukovsky, Moscow region.
