M erdev Nicholas Prokofievich Squadron 70 Fighter Regiment (1 Army Group) Captain. Born May 5, 1911 at the mine Rutchenkovo (now in the city of Donetsk) in a working class family. Russian. In the Red Army in 1931. He graduated from the Lugansk military aviation school pilots.
We chastvoval in the national revolutionary war of the Spanish people in March 1938. 13 July 1938 in a dogfight on I-16 fighters rammed Nazi aircraft. He was awarded the Order of Lenin. In September 1938 he returned to his homeland.
In the fighting on Private Khalkhin Goal in 1939. Zherdev NP. made 105 sorties, 14 of assault attacks on concentrations of enemy personnel, in 46 air battles personally shot down 11 enemy aircraft and 3 in the group.
