. Born August 10, 1916 in the city Birzula (now Kotovsk Odessa area) in a working class family. Ukrainetz. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1941. Graduated from the 7 classes, school FZU. He worked as an assistant engineer. In the Red Army in 1936. In 1938 he graduated from the Orenburg Air Force Pilot School. Participated in the national liberation war of the Chinese people against Japanese invaders.

Member of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. He fought in the South-West, Don, Central, Belorussian fronts.
