He worked as an assistant engineer. In the Red Army in 1936. In 1938 he graduated from the Orenburg Air Force Pilot School. Participated in the national liberation war of the Chinese people against Japanese invaders.
Member of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. He fought in the South-West, Don, Central, Belorussian fronts.
