AVL Posthuma Albin (Postumius Albinus, Aulus)

Posthuma Albinus, Aulus; Postumius Albinus, Aulus, II in. BC. e., Roman annalist. As praetor in 155 g. took the embassy of Athenian philosophers (Academician Carneades, the Stoic Diogenes of Seleucia and peripatetic Critolaus) and the Achaean embassy. In 151 g. was consul. The author wrote in Greek history of Rome (not preserved), which in the author's intention was to have a pragmatic purpose, to uncover the causes of internal communications and events, as Thucydides. PA is probably overestimated his capabilities, his work has not mattered much, but the request was born in Latium author's indulgence of his readers to errors in the Greek language gave Cato the Elder rise to relentless ridicule. P.A. also wrote a poem, perhaps the arrival of Aeneas in Italy.
