Biography Chapygina Aleksey
Chapygina Alexei Pavlovich (1870 - 1937), writer.
Born on October 5 (17 NS) in the village of Great angle Olonetsk province to a peasant family. Primary education in Zemstvo school.
In 1883 arrived in St. Petersburg, where he began to study "beautifully-painting craft". He worked as an apprentice. Educate ourselves, read a lot, trying to compose.
In 1903 publishes his first essay - "sighted". Start writing stories, the heroes of whom are artisans, tramps, village people, who came to town in search of work. Later, with gratitude to write about Korolenko and M. Gorky, who played a big role in his literary fate. In 1912 came his first collection of short stories, in 1913 - story "White skit, which had a success.
In 1918 published a book "In animal trail", a collection of hunting stories, the creation of which was inspired Chapygina northern village, its people are well versed writer. Gorky saw Chapygina interest in history, and is further manifested in the works. The historical novel "Stepan Razin" (1926 - 27) played a significant role in the development of Soviet historical prose.
In 1935 - 37 published his hugely popular novel "Walkers people," written with a good knowledge of language and life in Russia XVIII century.
At the age of 67 on Oct. 21, 1937 Chapygina died in Leningrad.
