Bruskin Alexander Davidovich (6.11.1897, Kherson - 7.3.1939), statesman. Son trader. Educated at the Kharkov Institute of Technology (1922). In 1917 joined the RSDLP, Menshevik. In 1918-19 he worked in student organizations, in 1918-20 in the Supreme Economic Council of Ukraine. In March 1919 joined the Red Army, was arrested in Kharkov, but not hurt. In 1920, adopted the RCP (B.). In 1922 a mechanic at the factory "Sickle and Hammer". In 1924 an engineer at the Kharkov Locomotive Plant. Since 1929 the chief engineer, from 1931 Technical Director, in 1932-34 the director of the Kharkov Tractor Plant. In 1934-36 the director of one of the giants of Soviet industry ~ the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant. Since August. 1936 Deputy. People's Commissar of Heavy Industry of the USSR. In 1937 was elected to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Since Sept.. 1937 1 st Vice. Commissar (with VI. Mezhlauk), with engineering 17/10/1937 Commissar of the USSR. 29/6/1938 arrested, but only 16.7.1938 officially relieved of his duties Commissar. Sentenced to death. Shot. In 1955, rehabilitated.
