EYKERZ John Fellows

EYKERZ John Fellows (Akers John Fellows) (p. 1934, Boston, pc. Massachusetts), American businessman, head of the corporation IBM (1986-93).

In 1956 Eykerz graduated from Yale University, majoring in industrial management, then served in the U.S. Naval Aviation. In 1960 was adopted by IBM, trainee sales. It began its continuous advancement through the ranks - he held positions in marketing, development, production, and in 1986 headed the corporation. At that time the country was in recession, and competition in the computer market has been particularly acute.

In 1988 Eykerz rebuilt IBM, creating independent business units. It also improved the service, making IBM computers are mutually compatible, and increased the company's position in the highly profitable market of supercomputers. In 1991, in connection with significant losses Eykerz announced a new transformation of the company - reducing job. Also in 1991, under the leadership Eykerza IBM signed an agreement with Apple Computer on cooperation in the development of new technologies. Were set up two joint companies in software.
