Biography Aryabhata
Aryabhata (Aryabhata) (476 - ca. 550), also Ariabata, Indian astronomer and mathematician. Born in Kusumapure (near Pataliputra, India). Of the two essays written by him, only one survived - Aryabhata (499), . which in the poetic form set out the mathematical details, . necessary for astronomical calculations, are challenges for the formulation and solution of equations, . the square and cube roots, etc.,
. Much of this work is devoted to astronomy and spherical trigonometry. Also presented are 33 rules of arithmetic, algebra and trigonometry in the plane. Study demonstrated indeterminate equations with infinite fractions.

Aryabhata found a very precise value of 'pi' (3.1416) and introduced into trigonometry function (1 - cos x). The scientist surmised that the rotation of the heavens - only apparent and is a consequence of the Earth's rotation around its axis. Name of Aryabhata is named the first Indian-made satellite, launched April 19, 1975 with the help of the Soviet launch vehicle, designed to study the Sun, the Earth's ionosphere and cosmic X-ray sources.
