Biography Poplavskii Boris Yulianovich
Poplawski, BORIS Yulianovich (1903-1935), Russian poet and prose. Born on May 24 (6 June) 1903 in Moscow, came from a noble Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian family. His father - a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, one of the disciples of Tchaikovsky. The house Poplavskii in Arbat street going to the literary and musical circle, the poet's sister, Natalia published in 1917 "Lyrics green lady".

In 1918 the family split up: Natasha with her mother remained in Moscow, Poplavskii father moved to Kharkov, then in Yalta. One of the first works Poplavskiy "Ode on the death of the emperor" refers to that time. At Yalta Chekhov circle, he made his first appearance with the reading of his poems. The first publication was held in 1920 in Rostov-na-Donu.

Since 1920 Poplavskii in exile, first in Constantinople, then in Berlin, and finally in Paris. For a long time Poplavskii not published. Back in Berlin Poplavskii began writing the novel "Apollo BEZOBRAZOV" completed his ten years later in Paris (1932), excerpts were published in magazines 'number' and 'Meetings', printed in full only in 1992. The idea of the novel was prompted by the only major prose works of Poe's "The Story of Arthur Gordon Pym," where reality departs before the terrible visions of a sailor on the sinking ship. Mixing reality and phantasmagoria forming fabric constructed in the form of fragments of the novel about mysticism and the Stoics, a figure which resembled Alexander Ginger - a poet, a close 'the Paris note'.

Second novel Poplavskiy "Home from heaven" remained in manuscript (fragments appeared in 1936-1938, a complete edition in 1993). This autobiographical, . devoid of fantasy and recreates the typical Poplavsky drama of loneliness, . misunderstood, . 'deaf-mutism', . 'forgetfulness' and hopelessness, . which ends with attempts to create for themselves a coherent approach to life,

Poplavskii kept diaries after his death saved another writer ND Tatishchev and published in 1996. They show the depth and constancy Poplavskiy interest in metaphysical issues of great complexity, his fascination with Theosophy and the search criteria for distinguishing between good and evil. Part diary entries are used in both novels Poplavskiy.

The first publication of the fragments of the text (1938) has provoked Berdyaev: noting that the record Poplavskiy 'striking lack of simplicity and directness', he nevertheless felt in them 'authentic religious concern and seeking'.

Poplavskii died in Paris on October 9, 1935.
