Semashko H. A. (genus. in 1874) - member of the party since 1893, Mr.. 18 years of age participated in the illegal gymnasium circle. In 1893, entered the medical faculty of Moscow State University, immediately joined the SA-d. parties entered into one of the Marxist groups, and began to lead organizational and propaganda work among workers and students in Moscow. For the first time been arrested in 1895, in connection with mass arrests in Moscow and, after 3 months' imprisonment, was sent to Mr.. Elec under strict police surveillance. On his release from supervision entered the medical faculty of Kazan University. In 1899-1900. organized the Social-Democrats. Circles in Kazan and led a study group on the preparation of educators. In 1901, Mr.. was arrested for organizing a student demonstration, and after several months of detention expelled from Kazan. Graduated from the University illegally, appearing in secret from the police, and received the title "doctor with honors". Working as a GP, led the party work in the Orel province, and Nizhniy Novgorod. In 1905, Mr.. Comrade. Semashko was the permanent chairman of the revolutionary assembly in Nizhny Novgorod. For participation in the preparation of armed defense against the punitive expedition in Sormovo was arrested and spent 9 months in prison. Released under the big bail because he had first emerged in the prison of tuberculosis, he emigrated to Geneva, where he began working in the local organization of the Bolsheviks. In Geneva, he met with Plekhanov, but not friends with him because of political differences. Relations between them deteriorated even so, that Plekhanov did not want to help Semashko, when he was arrested. Only through enhanced to efforts in. I. Comrade Lenin. Semashko was not issued to the tsarist government. After moving behind Lenin in Paris, where he worked as secretary to the foreign bureau of the Central Committee. Later he was a delegate to the International Congress of Stuttgart (1907) and participated in the party conference in 1912, which laid a solid basis for the organization of the Bolshevik party in Russia. Only in July 1917. Semashko returned to Russia (Moscow), where he took the post of chairman of the district council in Zamoskvorechie. During the October Revolution was one of the leaders of the district board of doom, which took over all the municipal authorities in Moscow after the coup. Then he was appointed head of the Moscow Department of Health, and from 1918. served as the Commissariat.
