Princess Vera Kirillovna Meshcherskaya was born in 1876. She was one of the most prominent and active people among the 'Russian Parisians'. Princess Meshcherskaya many years stood at the head of 'Russian House "in Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois, France.

Vera Meshcherskaya one of the most famous of imperial Russia had time to see our Goals. She was the daughter of the Ambassador of Russia in the Empire of Japan. From a young age was accustomed to a secular manners and received a decent education.

Vera Meshcherskaya always been openness and purity of soul. She was a very compassionate lady, tried to take care not only about human beings equal to themselves, but also helped many poor and disadvantaged.

The first step was the foundation of the Faith Mescherskaya school for young girls. By chance, she found minded in the face of her former pupil, a rich and influential Englishwoman Dorothy Peget.

Dorothy Peget Mescherskaya decided to help in its endeavors. However, these women have set about creating a shelter for the Russian intelligentsia. Peget bought a big mansion in Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois, and in 1927 they began to receive its first guests.

This shelter is called 'Russian House'. For several years he became widely known in Europe and many of the Russian aristocracy began to look for 'new life' in this refuge.

. Princess Vera Kirillovna became dear person for a large number of artists, aristocrats and others who could not find a place in Bolshevik Russia.

In December 1949, Vera Meshcherskaya handed the reins "Russian house" of his daughter in law, Antoinette Mescherskaya.
