Born December 13, 1873 in Moscow, in a family of merchants.

In 1893 he graduated from the Moscow school. L. I. Polivanov.
From 1893 to 1899 he studied at the historical-philological faculty of Moscow University, first at the department of classical philology, then at the historic. University graduate with a diploma of degree 1.

In 1894 - 95 held creative debut
Bryusov. He has released three collections of "Russian Symbolism", consisting of works of young poets, as well as his own translations from the French symbolists.
