Biography POLENOV Vasily
From 1863 to 1871 he studied at St. Petersburg University in physics and mathematics, then the Faculty of Law and at the same time at the Academy of Arts.

From 1872 to 1876 he lived in Italy and France. in 1881 - 1882 and in 1899 traveled to the East, during which numerous studies performed. In the years 1877-1878 as an artist took part in the Russian-Turkish war.

In 1878 he settled in Moscow, became friendly with Abramcevskaja circle. In 1870 he worked in the field of landscape and genre paintings.

Since 1878 - Member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. In 1882 - 1894 he lectured at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.

. In 1880 he painted the Gospels.

. V.D.polenov worked as a theater artist, including the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, as well as the architect
