Serov,
Valentin Alexandrovich - a painter, son of the famous composer of music AN.
Serov was born in 1865.
He began his education in the classical school, but it was only three lower-class and emerged from it with the intention to devote himself entirely art. After two years of classes in drawing and painting under the guidance of I.E. Repin (in the workshop which, in Paris, painted in the course of one winter, while another 8 - 9-year old boy), students enrolled in the Imperial Academy of Arts. Here his chief mentor was PP. Chistyakov. Received from the Academy a small silver medal for the sketch from nature, has left this institution in 1884. and from that time began to work independently, more and more perfect in art, mainly portraits.
Since 1894. is a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions and 1897. lecturer at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Major works of this talented artist - portraits: Emperor, AN.
