. 17 December 1995 was elected to the State Duma on Vyazemsky б? District 168

He was a member of the Communist Party faction. Was a member of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science.

19 December 1999 was elected to the State Duma of the third convocation, typing 24,11% of votes. He went into the parliamentary faction of the Communist Party.

From January 2000 - member of the Credentials Committee of the State Duma, member of the Committee

State Duma Committee on Education and Science.

Married. Has two sons.
