Biography Nicholas Kulbin
1868, St. Petersburg - 1917, Petrograd. He graduated from the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg (1892), assistant professor of the Academy, the physician of the General Staff. Portraitist, landscape painter, author of the religious-mystical tracks. Exhibitions since 1908. One of the pioneers of the avant-garde movement in Russia, he wanted to liberate art from the shackles of tradition and replace them with the principle of intuition. Was fond of light-music synthesis theories put forward by Scriabin and Kandinsky. Published and illustrated books cubists-futurists. His works are in the SRM, St. Petersburg, etc.. meetings.
