Biography Nicholas Tyrsa
1887, the Aral Sea, Armenia - 1942, Vologda. Studied in VHU in Arts in Moscow (1905-09) in school E. Zvantseva in St. Petersburg at the L. Bakst (1907-10). Exhibitions since 1918. Member artistic societies "Youth Union", "Left Union", "4 Art. In 1917-42 he taught at art schools. As a young man several years studying ancient Russian art - copied and restored frescoes. In 1920 was considered the most important master in illustrating children's books. In the 1930's - enthusiasm for oil painting, lithography. Invented an entirely new technology - ink wash on stone. Personal exhibition opens June 15, 1941, lasted a week - the war broke. His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Literary Museum, Moscow; SRM, St. Petersburg, etc.. meetings.
