Filonov Paul

1882, Moscow - 1941, Leningrad (killed in a siege). Studied at the PU OPKh (1898), in VHU at IAH (1908-10). Member of Society "Union of Youth" (1910), the creator of "Masters of Analytical Art" (MAI, School Filonov, 1925-41). Exhibitions since 1910. Filonov unique style sets him apart from the galaxy of Russian avant-garde artists. His outlook had been formed under the influence of the Northern Renaissance paintings, Russian icons, symbolism, neo-primitivism and the latest scientific discoveries. The founder of "analytical art" - zhiznestroitelnoy theory, which reflected the vision of "world bloom". The world of his paintings - it is a living process with good and evil, the eternal evolution, creation and destruction. In his analytic method artist "builds" now, just as nature "creates" of atoms and molecules. Works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow; SRM, St. Petersburg, the National Center for Arts and Culture. ZH. Pompidou in Paris and other museums and collections of the world
