Biography Jan de Bont
Bont (Bont), Jan de (p. 22. 10. 1943), Dutch and American operator and director.
He was born in Eindhoven in the south of Holland. Was the tenth child of a wholesaler. In 12 years, Jan acquired the 8-millimeter camera and began to shoot weddings and other celebrations. At home, he showed the 16-millimeter films, which often took the rent, he loved photography and loved to race motorcycles. Later, he withdrew as an operator in P. Verhoeven movie 'Spettery' (1980) about the hero-rider. Parents did not approve of the decision to leave Ian in Amsterdam and go to film academy. But he admitted to her friendship with P. Verhuvenom, which subsequently withdrew most of his hits.
On Bont greatly influenced by Godard, who recommended him and Verhuvenu shoot low-budget films, as well as. Kubrick. Verhuvenom should make an erotic thriller 'The Turkish sweets' (1973), the historical 'Kitty-topotushka' military 'Soldier of Orange' (1977) and especially the mystical tape 'Fourth Man' (1983). After this movie they were invited to Hollywood, . where he continued to not only help to put films Verhuvenu ( 'flesh and blood', . 'Total Recall', . 'Robocop'), . but also worked on such prestigious projects, . as the 'Pearl of the Nile', . 'Ruthless People', . 'Die Hard', . 'Lethal Weapon-3'.,
. Operators' work, he was 10 years preparing for directing and learned the craft from such diverse artists as P
. Scott P. Donner, D. McTiernan. He believes that many fighters lack the realism, the viewer can not identify themselves with superheroes such as A. Schwarzenegger. Bont prefers freely moving camera and went on location. The ability to find creative solutions on the set allowed him for 30 million.
