Biography STERLTGOV Alexander

Born in 1943 From 1960 to 1966 he studied at the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute (MADI), in 1966-1967 - at the Higher Courses of the KGB of the USSR in Moscow.
From 1967 to 1983 he worked in the Office of the KGB in Moscow and Moscow region. During this time, advanced in the service of operational staff to the Deputy Chief of Counter-Intelligence Service. Member of the CPSU from 1970 until its prohibition.
In 1983, among 150 employees of the KGB was sent to the Secretary General Yuri Andropov, CPSU Central Committee on "strengthening" of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs.
C 1983 to 1986 he worked as Head of Department to combat theft of socialist property (UBHSS) Chief of the Office of Internal Affairs of Moscow City.
In 1986, adopted the proposal by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Nikolai Ryzhkov, head the newly established sector of the Sixth Economic Division of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.
From 1988 to 1990 (half year) was the chief of economic management in the Administration of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.
In July 1990 the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR Ivan Silayev Sterligova offered the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR. But soon Silaev made a different decision and insisted that Sterligov was appointed Managing Director of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR.
In November 1990, resigned from the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of uncomplicated relationship with the Vice-President of the Supreme Council (SC) of the RSFSR Ruslan Khasbulatov.
In early 1991, Sterligov accepted an invitation to the new President of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Valentin Pavlov's return to the Council of Ministers of the USSR head of the department, but in June he was appointed assistant Rutskoi.
Prior to December 1991 was the official assistant of Economic Affairs Alexander Rutskoi and, moreover, served as deputy head of the secretariat of the Vice-President.
In December 1991, resigned from his position of Assistant Vice President.
In December 1991, was the initiator of the Movement "Officers of the revival of Russia", in January 1992 was elected its chairman.
In October 1992, entered the Organizing Committee of the National Redemption Front (NRF).
In January 1992, was dismissed from the Ministry of Security of Russia (the former KGB). In January 1993, at the extended plenum of the Movement "Officers of the revival of the Motherland" was nominated for mayor of Moscow (officially registered as a candidate was put forward by the Assembly of Citizens).
