Since 1976, Mr.. by 1978. worked as an engineer, then a senior engineer in the Siberian Physico-Technical Institute.
In 1981. defended his dissertation for the Ph.D. degree in Physics and Mathematics at the Institute of High Current Electronics, Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences.

participated in the organization of public resistance to the coup, first in Tomsk, then in the House of Soviets (White House) in Moscow.
Summer-autumn 1993. organized in Tomsk Branch of the pre-election block Russia's Choice. At the 4 th Congress RPRF opposed joining the bloc party Grigory Yavlinsky. Together with Boris Titenko vnutipartiynuyu organized faction of Russia's Choice "and represented this party in the political council RPRF.

was a member of the Committee on Industry, Construction, Transport and Energy, Chairman of the subcommittee on the development of military-industrial complex. He was a member of the Credentials Committee Gos.Dumy RF until 18 March 1994.

ran for Gos.Dumu 6-th convocation as an independent MP for Tomsk constituency 174 and was elected
