Biography Alexei Ivanovich Polunin
(1820-1888 gg.) - A prominent Russian pathologist. In 1847-1848 he. was an employee of a hospital therapy clinic. The first in Russia to independent teaching of pathological anatomy, founded in 1849. Department of Pathological Anatomy at the medical faculty of Moscow University. A. I. Polunin was the founder of the Moscow school of pathologists, the speakers for addressing the problems of pathological anatomy in conjunction with the physiology. In 1869, Mr.. founded the department of general pathology (later pathological physiology), and first started to read an independent course of general pathology. He was one of the first medical-publicists. From 1851 to 1859 he. was editor and publisher of the Moscow medical journal.
