After school he worked as a fitter. Graduated from Civil Engineering Department of the Ural Polytechnic Institute. S. M. Kirov (1963), post-graduate studies at the Engineering Faculty of Economics and evening department music school for guitar (1963). Playing six-string guitar. In 50-ies became the laureate of the first postwar-Union competition of pop artists as a guitarist.

In February 1979. became the winner of 6-th All-Union competition entertainers. Since March 1979. to 1980, was an actor of the Leningrad Theater of Miniatures running Arkady Raikin, then became a freelance artist, poet, Honored Artist of Russia. Member of the St. Petersburg (Leningrad) Branch of the Union of writers and playwrights (since 1979).
Began writing songs while in high school (1949) in his poems. As a teenager, playing in jazz and rock bands. He participated in many festivals.
