The national-liberation struggle of the dedicated 'Hymn to Freedom' (1823) first major work on the popular Greek language, the initial stanzas of which were from 1865 the national anthem, the poem 'Ode on the death of Lord Byron' (1825). Lyrical and philosophical poem 'Free besieged' (not finished, 1825).
