Born in g. Tsarevo Astrakhan province in the family veterinarian. In 1908, Mr.. entered the law faculty of Moscow University, but in 1911. was expelled for participating in student unrest. In 1912, Mr.. was readmitted to the University, this time on the natural history department of Physics and Mathematics Faculty. Student of Professor GA. Kozhevnikov. Upon graduation, in 1916. was retained by the university-aunt to prepare for a professorship. Later he worked at Moscow University, and since 1930. until his death led the Chairs of zoology and comparative anatomy of invertebrates.
