Biography AMPHITHEATER Jacob Kozmich
(1802 - 1848), writer, professor of church literature of the Kiev Theological Academy, a severe ascetic and preacher strictly-orthodox beliefs, led a passionate fight against the direction of the circle Belinsky. His "Reading about church literature, or Homiletics" (Kiev, 1846) - one of the most remarkable Russian works on homiletics, the first attempt to put a church sermon around old models.
