Biography Bodyansky Osip Maximovich
Born October 31, 1808, Mr.. At the end of the course in Poltava seminary student enrolled in the University of Moscow, where he graduated from a course on the separation of verbal. Received in 1837. Master philology, Bodyansky went for scientific purposes abroad, spent 1837 - 1842 years, mainly in the Slavic lands, and upon their return in 1842, Mr.. Moscow took the chair of history and literature of the Slavic dialects in Moscow University. In the rank of secretary of the Moscow Society of History and Antiquities of Russian published (1846 - 1848 and 1858 - 1877) "reading" of this society, which under his editorship was the publication of periodicals, who had a very important services of national history. "Reading", issued to them from 1846 - 1848 years, Bodyansky put many ancient monuments of Russian and Slavic Literature, prepared by him for publication, and many of its original and translated articles. Try to print in this edition translated writings of Fletcher of Russia in the late XVI century, has caused his removal from the clerical duties and move to Kazan University (1848). Bodyansky reluctance to take this place was the reason for the dismissal of his resignation (1849); a year later he was re-defined in the previous rank of Moscow University's professors, but from 1858. He was re-elected secretary of the Society of History and Antiquities. In "reading" the editing of which he again took over in 1858, still has a lot of printed materials and research on Russian history. He died in Moscow, September 6, 1877.
