Biography GOLOVACHEVSKY Kirill Ivanovich
(1735 - 1823) - portrait painter, born maloross; as a child, went to students of the Kiev Theological Academy, but in 1748, as having a good voice, he was hired as a court chanter and sent to St. Petersburg. Consisting in the imperial Song Festival Choir, earned him the favor of Empress Catherine II and, with her permission, studied, together with their comrades on the chorus A.P. Losenkov and IS. Sablukova, drawing and painting at Argunova. With them the same, with the establishment of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, in 1759, Mr.. been identified in her as an apprentice, at what he requested superintendence of its pupils and the teaching of art. In 1762, Mr.. recognized as an Adjunct Academy, and three years later, when its grand opening, renamed in academics. In 1766, Mr.. promoted to the rank of counselor, which gave him the right to sit and give their voice in an academic conference. In 1771,. appointed Inspector of the Academy, but remained in office only three years. Then followed for five years were a time in which enforced Golovachevskim most of his artwork. He repeatedly painted portraits of the Empress and the Crown Prince Paul Petrovich, had quite a lot of portrait commissions from the nobility and then sometimes take up his historical paintings. In 1777, Mr.. determined in the department of Medical College drawing teacher, but in 1783, Mr.. was called again to the execution of the post of inspector of the academy, which did not leave until the end of his life.
