Biography Golovinskii Ignatius P.
(1807 - 1855). He was a professor of Roman Catholic theology at the University of Kiev. In 1842, Mr.. appointed rector of the Roman Catholic Theological Academy in St. Petersburg. He died in the rank of Metropolitan of the Roman Catholic Church in Russia. A talented writer and an outstanding orator, he belonged to his ideas, to ultramontane Party. The medieval papacy was in his lectures (taught in Polish) full recognition. He found a reasonable basis for the Inquisition and even executions of heretics. Composing Golovinskoe: "Legendy" (Vilna, 1843); "Zycie mojej matki" (in the book "Teka Rozmaitosci", ed. 1844. - Golovinskoe story about his childhood, a Russian translation of "Contemporary", . 1844); "Pielgrzymka do Ziemi Swietej" (Vilna, . 1842 - 1845, . 2 ed., . 1853); "Rachel" (1847); "Pisma Zegoty Kastrowca" (1848); "Kazania niedzielne, . swietalne i przygodne etc. "(Krakow, . 1857); "Homiletyka" (Krakow, . 1859) and others, . Under the supervision of Golovinskoe published: "Acts and the ratification of the device of the Roman Catholic Church in the empire of Russia and the Kingdom of Poland" (St. Petersburg, 1849, Latin and Russian texts).
