Biography Gordeev Fedor Gordeevich
(1744 - 1810), studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (from 1759 to 1767 in Gillet), improved in Paris under Lemoine, in Rome - through the study of antiquities. Upon returning fashioned group "Prometheus", for which, in 1769, was declared appointed to the academics, and is defined with at the Academy. In 1776, for relief of Mercury gives Bacchus, nymphs, was awarded the title of academician, in 1777, Mr.. made an associate professor in 1782, Mr.. elevated to the rank of Professor in 1794, Mr.. was promoted to associate rector of the Academy for the category of sculpture and, finally, since 1802, Mr.. the end of life, was the rector. From his works are known: a monument to Princess NM. Golitsyn (1780) in the old Cathedral of the Don Mother of God in Moscow Donskoy Monastery, Monument to Prince D.M. Golitsyn (Moscow Golitsyn Hospital), "Prometheus" (1769, Museum of Alexander III) and bas-reliefs on the facade of the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg: "Annunciation," "Flight into Egypt", "Protection of the Blessed Virgin" and "Christmas".
