At the end of 1892. course at the Artillery Academy, St. Michael's was on there coach and assistant director of the chemical laboratory. In the same year he worked on organic chemistry at St. Petersburg University in the laboratory of Professor Favorskogo. Since 1893, Mr.. taught chemistry at the Mikhailovsky Artillery School and the Academy. In 1895, Mr.. defended his thesis "On the action of bromine on methyl tertiary alcohols, and hydrogen, acetylene and allene hydrocarbons" and was promoted to full-time teacher academy. For this work, the Russian Physico-Chemical Society awarded Ipatief small prize п?.п?. Butlerova. In 1896 - 1897 he. Ipat'ev working in foreign laboratories: in Munich with Professor Bayer, which made jointly work on the structure of the corona and karonovoy acid, and in Paris in Vielha e Mijaran of gunpowder and explosives. In 1899. Ipat'ev defended his dissertation "allene hydrocarbons, the reaction of chloride nitrozola, nitrozaty and the action of sodium malonic ester on dibromide" and "Explosive properties trinitrokrezola and trinitronaftalina", for which he received the rank of professor Academy. Since 1902. Ipat'ev, as privat-docent, reading in the St. Petersburg University course thermochemistry. Under the leadership of Ipatief laboratory academy was made by his students a number of scientific papers published in the Journal of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society. Proceedings Ipatief, published in the Journal of Russian Physico-Chemical Society "," Journ. fur praktische Chemie "and" Ber. d. deutsch. chem. Gesellsch. ", Refer to the organic and partly to a common chemistry, are as follows:" The structure and synthesis of isoprene (1897), "Synthesis metilgeptenona" (1900), "Effects of hydrogen bromide in acetic acid solution in ethylene hydrocarbons" (1903) and others. and a number of works on catalysis: Pirogeneteticheskie contact reaction with organic substances "(1901 - 02) and catalytic reactions at high temperatures and pressures". The result of recent works were new catalytic methods of preparation of many organic compounds, such as: aldehydes, ketones, ethylene and ethylene hydrocarbons. For catalytic reactions for the ethylene plant Szeryng in Germany Ipatief awarded the prize. Some work related Ipatief explosives used in artillery shells and equipment for the data they obtained (for the impossibility of issuance), placed in magazines Commissions. In addition to these works, Ipat'ev published textbooks on inorganic and organic chemistry and is a staff member present "Encyclopedic Dictionary".
